Can I view the package structure of my project as a tree?
Yes. Go to Tools | Options | IDE Configuration | Look and Feel | Package View and set the Package View Type option to Tree View. The Projects view will display the package structure as a tree instead of the list of long package names.
In 4.2 you can just use the context menu in the Projects view, rather than the Options dialog.
